Stratford has become one of Ontario’s main cultural centers thanks to the world-renowned Stratford Festival. Established as the Stratford Shakespearean Festival in 1952, it has since grown alongside the Bard over the years to incorporate more modern playwrights. The town also boasts a wonderful annual music festival if the theater is not enough of an attraction, and is the birthplace of many artists, including Justin Bieber. Between the shores of Lake Victoria and the Avon Gorge, the town's downtown features lots of boutique shops and restaurants. Nature enthusiasts would be delighted to hear that the region has the highest per capita parkland in Ontario than anywhere else, and riding, hiking or golfing can be enjoyed all summer long for residents.

The key industries in the area are agriculture, construction and hospitality, however many residents prefer to commute to work in London or Kitchener-Waterloo, which are just 40-60 minutes away by car. Bear in mind that the town will be filled by theatre-loving visitors during the summer months for film festivals. Houses and apartments for rent in Stratford are often difficult to find, but thankfully they are affordable when found.
