Located on Lake Simcoe's west bank and Lake Couchiching, Orillia, Ontario is about an hour and a half drive north of Barrie, and about an hour and a half north of Toronto. Orillia is recognized by locals as Sunshine City, and every summer draws flocks of visitors, who come for the countless festivals and the stunning lakefront views. Orillia 's population is aging; in the city, there are quite a few elderlies, with families coming in a near second. People living in Orillia also find an abundance of jobs in the retail, tourism, government and electricity industries.

In the city, there are also several lovely houses for rent. There's a Georgian College campus in town, as well as a Lakehead University campus. Younger students, including a number of Catholic schools, may attend public or private schools. It can be difficult to locate an apartment for rent in Orillia, simply because most of the time there are few units available. Low-rise buildings also have units available for $1,500 to $1,700 a month for 1 or 2 bedrooms, leaving Orillia significantly more pricey than nearby towns.
