The population of Ajax is exploding as the town fills with young professionals. There are couples who like more room and privacy than is afforded in Hamilton or Toronto. Ajax is mixed, and the region has significant black and South Asian populations. Ajax currently has the largest number of black people in any big city in Canada. Local Ajax residents tend to be well educated, with more than two thirds of the population earning post-secondary degrees.
