Description
Please READ: * Sorry NO couples, smokers, drugs, parties, guests or sleepovers. The room is for 1 single individual; student or young professional. I am down-sizing to help reorganize my life and finances, giving up the master bedroom to rent and will take up the smaller room. About the ROOM/HOME: Furnished room in a home share. Must be clean, peaceful & responsible. Its important that you are already familiar with taking care of a home, not looking for a lazy dirty minimal effort type person. I want a roommate who is clean and tidy, somebody who is familiar with wiping the toilette seat after they use it or wiping the counters & stove after they've finished cooking/eating, understands the logic of 'shoes off at the door & wash hands with soap & hot water' without having to explain common sense habits. Ideally a roomie who is proactive at managing their home. Should be legally employed or enrolled in school (soft reference check). Available to rent for short term (2-4 months) but longer term can be discussed if things go well between us. Compatibility and chemistry are important. Room is a fully furnished private closed door bedroom in a furnished 4.5 apartment of a 6-plex on TOP floor (no neighbors above). This home share is ideal for international students/workers who are travelling light. It’s a closed BR with a Queen size bed, 3 seat comfy sofa which you can also sleep on, an office desk & chair, ceiling fan and a spacious 2-level walk-in closet with dual sliding mirror doors + direct access to private front balcony overlooking the street. Its spacious and very comfortable (ideally its how I set up this room for myself, which Im offering to the right person). Summer breeze is very nice, winter is warm and cozy. Bright and luminous. Our rooms are on opposite sides of home so we both got balcony access beside our rooms. Washroom is bright and clean. Washer and dryer in the kitchen. Nice big clean new fridge. Dining table and living room that are more often used as storage. The home is cozy, safe, clean, secure & relatively peaceful. It will be just me and you here, nobody else. Once we establish chemsitry over first few months, we can discuss a longer term stay and re-establish mutual rules (I'm willing to make changes for the right person ei adopting dog/cat, potlucks, movie/game night, sleepovers, brunches, sports night, pre-game etc etc). Rent + Wifi = $750 Hydro = ~$20-$40/month (non winter months) or ~$30-$60/month during winter months (unless you abuse the hot water, heater and oven). Huge park close by just 5mins walk to St. Lawrence River, bike paths, Wellington summer pietons, 2 metros stations (Verdun and De L’eglise less than 8mins walk), 2 buses at corners, grocery stores on Wellington and lots more, all walking distance (google wellington street in Verdun to browse). 20 mins commute to downtown. This is a great living scenario for somebody who really needs a clean quiet safe home to sleep shower rest relax prepare meals & eat without being bothered by others, and yes I am friendly, sociable and open to sharing meals too. If you are prioritized on rebuilding your life & finances or working on completing one chapter before starting the next, this could be a great home for you to find a sanctuary of peace & serenity to help you + I am very good with managing food related stuff, so if you're open to it we can team-up to make life easier for us both. If you're independent, enjoy your alone time after long day of work/school without the clingy need of a social life, this home will be great for you, however, if you have a constant need to have your friends over, sorry but this home isn’t for your friends/partner. Thank you for your understanding. If you are new to Montreal, I can show you around town, help you with directions etc. You wouldn't be the 1st nor last, I've helped countless people setup themselves upon their arrival to Montreal. I’m friendly, social, generous & helpful but I’ve also lived with +30 roommates. I keep my social life limited to outside my home so I ask you do the same. Occasional guests is fine but once it becomes a habit then we have to draw the line. Cleaning chores are divided and usually home is kept clean so you won’t have to worry about a dirty/lazy roommate. If this sounds interesting to you; send a shout describing yourself a bit and why we’d be good roommates, I’ll be glad to respond back. Thanks for reading & good luck!
