Description |
Help me terminate my lease that ends August 31st, 2025. I've signed a new lease elsewhere starting July 1, 2025 and don't want to pay the next two months at this current apartment. I WILL PAY YOU $150 to fill out the TAL's forms "Assignment of lease agreement" & "Notice of lease assignment" found here for your reference: https://surl.lu/bnyuwq ***You MUST provide me proof of GOOD credit and have no negative rental history such as serious breaches of your lease agreement, like unpaid rent or significant property damage*** THE CATCH: I pay you $150 for filling out two forms. The property manager wants to renovate and so there's a HIGH LIKELIHOOD THEY WILL REFUSE (see Option 2). After receiving the forms, the landlord has 15 days to reply using the "Response to a notice of assignment of lease". There are three reply options: Option 1: The landlord refuses the assignment for a serious reason (such as problematic behaviour or inability to pay the rent) = my lease is not broken, and you don't get the apartment. There's the possibility to argue there reasons are unjustified with the TAL. Option 2: The landlord refuses the assignment for reasons other then a serious one. = my lease is broken and you don't get the apartment Option 3: The landlord accepts the transfer. = You're free to move in July 1 for $900 with option to renew the lease with increase to $935 starting September 1, 2025. Includes hydro, heat, and water. Option 4: The landlord does not reply within 15 days and so the agreement is automatically accepted and you'd get the apartment for July 1. See link for your reference @tenantrightqc: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_TV5q0RDRx/ Whatever option pans out, I pay you $150 for filling out the forms. Again, I suspect (as long as you're in good standing) that Option 2 will pan out. Best case scenario, you get a really cheap apartment downtown Montreal. Make sense?
