Private room for rent Hey everyone, I am looking for a non-smoking female roommate to share a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment starting in August or September. *** Level: Penthouse baby! It is on the 31st floor of an apartment building. Killer of view of the city! ****** Availability: This room is available beginning either August 1 or Sep 1 ****** Term: 6 months, with the possibility to extend. If you are looking for something shorter, I am happy to discuss. ***** Rent: $1450 Per month ****** Utilities included: Hydro+water+WiFi. The washer and dryer are in the basement of the building. ****** Location: Bloor/Sherbourne. The building is a 7-8 minute walk from Sherbourne subway station and steps away from multiple bus stops. The building is within walking distance to grocery stores (multiple: Freshco, NoFrills and Foodbasics), the Wellesley community center with the Toronot public library and a swimming pool, local dollar stores, restaurants and bars. It doesn't come with free parking spaces, but there's paid street parking available. If you need parking for your car, we can talk about this with management. ****** About the Space Accessibility Info: Elevator in the building. Furnishing: The room comes with a twin bed (firm mattress), the rest of the house is fully furnished. The kitchen is fully stocked. If you have any furniture that you would like to bring for the shared spaces, let me know we can discuss it. Noise: City noise is prevalent. We are at the intersection of two fire stations, meaning you get to hear the sirens quite often, but the windows do an excellent job of blocking some of it out. Scent: Not a scent-free home, as I sometimes use scented candles and oils in my room and the bathroom. But shared spaces are relatively scent free. No smoking inside the apartment. Lighting: The house (and your room) get tons of natural light, with a north-facing window in your room and big east-facing windows in the living room. There is a mid-size balcony accessible from the living room that is great for hanging out or sunbathing. Storage: A closet in the bedroom can be used to hang clothes. There's a coat closet in the living room, but I recommend having a dresser/ under-bed storage, depending on how many clothes you have. Heating/AC: Each room has heating vents. There is no central cooling in the building, but I have an ac unit that I plug into the living room on extra hot days. If you leave your bedroom door open during this time, your room will get nice and cold. Pets: The building is pet friendly. I have many plants, mainly on high shelves, but a few are on ground level. All are welcome as long as our furry friends don't harm or disturb the plants. Social preferences: Hoping for open communication to ensure we don't disrupt our work-life plans.I have friends who come over for meals and board games and may sleepover. You would be similarly welcome to have social gatherings based on prior open communication about social plans at the house. ****** About Me: My name is Mahima(She/her.) I immigrated to Canada in 2020. I work full-time as a journalist and usually work remotely from home. I value intersectional identity and varied experiences. I'm a quiet and tidy person who loves to keep the common areas of the house clean. I just started to grow a tiny jungle in the house. If you have plants of your own, I'd be delighted to see them join the family as well. I cook often and am usually down to share a meal with my roommate. I do not smoke, and I would prefer my roommate to be a non-smoker as well. I do drink alcohol and enjoy making cocktails. I like watching east asian cinema, reading speculative feminist fiction, and I enjoy anime and manga. I don't particularly appreciate passive-aggressive communication, violent tendencies, and insensitivity toward other cultures. ****** Required Documents: Proof of income Credit check Landlord references Last month's rent deposit. First's month's rent at the beginning of the month ***** Please DM me telling me a little about yourself, your work/studies, your vibe, etc. |
