The photo of a room labelled June 1 is available June 1 only and whoever rents the May 1 room has a choice of either continuing to rent their $590 room, or, starting June 1, paying $100 extra a month, to rent the June 1 room. Now, three women rent separate rooms in the apartment, and single women often rent in the apartment building. We will not often check who enters or sleeps in the room, but there will be just one official tenant. This is for one tenant, single occupancy- not shared. Not two sharing, or one in each room- just one roommate renting both rooms. The two rooms are rented together, because although the larger room is 8x11.5’, it has no windows, and so is not suitable for sleeping. The smaller room is 9’ long so can accommodate a mattress, as shown in one of the photos. The two rooms are just a short stair apart. All of the furniture is optional. The rooms are private, lockable, and on the 2nd floor of a 4-bedroom apartment in a quiet apartment building, on Gerrard St East, a block west of Victoria Park Ave. Gerrard St is the first major street south of Danforth Ave. It is in southeast Toronto, near Scarborough, and not far from The Beaches: close to supermarkets and other amenities. Victoria Park subway station is a 10 minute walk away, so catching the bus to it is often not needed. Also near the building's door is a bus stop to reach Main Street subway station. Either way: 20+ more minutes on subway to downtown. Danforth Go Train Station is close and fast too: 15 minutes to Union Station downtown. The apartment is on the 2nd and 3rd floors and has 5 levels, so walking up and down short flights of stairs is necessary. The bedroom is next to a small kitchen, that is generally used for only light cooking. The kitchen, the upstairs bathroom and gym/storage area are shared with 2 young women who live upstairs on the 3rd floor. Also, a shared washroom is located one level below the larger room. Deposit of your last month of rent secures the room and May's rent is due May 1. The rent includes electricity, heat, Wi-Fi, and parking. Laundry is in the basement: $1.75 wash, $1.25 dry. A fob and key deposit of $95 is returnable. If you don’t have your own a/c unit, one can be installed. Basic optional furnishings, including mattresses are provided. The shelf hardware shown in the smaller room photos could be used for shelves. You should provide the bedding. No annoying pets allowed. No smoking in common areas. Visits occur in the pm.
