| Hello my name is Anne and I’m 32 years old. I’m desperately looking for somewhere to live. I’m on ODSP (for mental health reasons) which has made it even more difficult to find safe and affordable housing. I’m in an air bnb until May 19th. No one will rent to me which is beyond frustrating. Even though my credit is bad I’ve never missed a rent payment which my former landlord will attest to. She’s happy to give me a reference. I’m quiet, clean, respectful, and keep to myself. I value my privacy and ideally would love to live alone in a bachelor/studio but rent is insane. So I can only afford a room. I’m fine with roommates I just want to live somewhere safe and quiet. Not interested in living in a party home or apartment. I only get $1302/month. So putting down 1st & lasts month’s is impossible. The government doesn’t want to give us a livable income. It seems they’d rather we be homeless. This is all so incredibly stressful. I cry myself to sleep every night…if I sleep at all. Please if anyone knows of an affordable place or has one to rent in the Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge area please let me know.
