Compass Nova Scotia is now accepting applications for Heritage Hall (28 John St. Shelburne). Compass Nova Scotia Co-operative Homes Ltd. (Compass NS) is a non-profit housing cooperative incorporated under the Co-operative Associations Act in Nova Scotia. Compass NS’s mission is to sustain, build and grow inclusive housing co-operative communities with the vision to be the housing choice for Nova Scotians who want strong governance and credible management in a thriving co-op community. Heritage Hall is an historic building close to downtown Shelburne. It was built around 1888 and is currently being converted into 5 housing units. There are two 2-bedroom units, two 1-bedroom units and one barrier-free 1-bedroom unit. The expected occupancy date is September 1, 2025 (this date could be changed based upon project completion). The units will be reserved for applicants below the following income limits: 1 Bedroom – $62,500.00* 2 Bedroom – $73,000.00* *The income limits are based on the current Nova Scotia Income Limits. The housing charges will be: 1 bedroom – $652.00 (524 sqft to 622 sqft) 2 bedroom – $749.00 (682 sqft to 697sqft) Utilities are not included.
