| I am looking for someone to take over for my current sublet who has to leave suddenly from the city; The apartment is in downtown Halifax near Spring Garden (Barrington and Bishop) - the dates are August 1st 2025 through May 31st 2026 - with potential to extend for the right person. The building is quiet, perfect for a young working professional or a student. Dalhousie has a building immediately across the street, 20 minute walk to SMU, transit/bus stops, grocery store and pharmacy all within a 5 minute or less walk- the location is incredible. The unit will be unfurnished. You are: a single person, working professional or student with full time employment, you can verify said employment or income. You aren't a party person, you don't have dogs (cats are okay so long as they are respectful, litter box trained, etc.), you're okay with coin laundry, and you're a good neighbour! The unit is 420~sq ft., which has served me quite well as a single person with occasional visitors, but it's a space that will likely require you to have minimal furniture, condo sized furniture, and likely small-storage pieces in order to store extra odds and ends. I've loved living here, but the ideal tenant would, like me, have some experience playing furniture tetris and combining things down in order to use the space harmoniously. Rent is 1600$ without Electricity & Internet; tenant is responsible for their own renter's insurance (this is mandatory). The current landlord is willing to possibly do a renewed lease at market rent in May if everything goes smoothly. In order to apply I need proof of income (employment letter, 2 months of bank statements, etc.), credit check (credit solvency or credit score from equifax), and a rental reference. Damage deposit 1/2 month's rent + 1 month's rent will be required for eligible tenant to finalize a rental agreement (2400$ total). Parking is also available for an additional charge (I believe 140$ per month) |
