| I just wanted to say how disgraceful it is to be part of a society that is driven by greed. There are many people who cannot afford to live let alone pay 1500+ for an apartment. Or 1200+ utilities. How sad is this that people cannot find the basic needs of safety and shelter because many landlords are out to make $. I have a good career and and make good money, yet I cannot justify paying that much to someone so I can lay my head down after a long day at work, or to have a place to take a nap in. It’s truly disheartening that we can’t afford to live and all these new buildings are not here to help us, they are here to gouge us financially. Shame on those who are charging large amounts for a bachelor. A box in the wall. Just shame on them. Things are expensive but we are not helping our fellow humans and that is the whole purpose of life. Be good to one another and help each other out. Having a roommate sounds good, but who knows who you are going to live with. It could end good or it could end bad. Shift workers need quiet spots in the daytime. They can’t expect the world to quiet down just for them but how cool it would be to have a place that you could afford without a roommate. So you can just lay your head down at any time. I hope this gets to someone’s heart who is charging an arm and a leg. I’ve been seeking an apartment for months now and am living in a crowded bedroom that has no room for my items let alone myself. The luxury so many people take for granted. I left an unhealthy situation and choose myself, left everything behind and am trying to start over. It seems that is impossible in Saint John. Sad. |
