Description
Furnished, south-facing room with pale yellow walls and a wood and carpeted floor in traditional Fairfield home - half a block to Victoria’s scenic waterfront and just a few more to Beacon Hill Park and Cook St. Village. An easy and pleasant walk to downtown. 25 min. by bus to UVic. Residents: elder, retired English teacher-owner, and 1 other roomer. Extreme speed cable wireless. The upstairs has a bathroom shared with the other roomer, as is the main floor den with TV/DVD and desks. The kitchen, laundry etc. are used by all. There is covered outside smoking for those so inclined. Prefer rental on a semester basis. Importantly, this is not an apartment; there are guidelines and expectations. The ideal roomer would be quiet, considerate, tidy and involved in pursuits of their own. Available May 1, 2025. $ 650 per month which includes all utilities, laundry, internet etc. Please use email davidwmathers@gmail.com from now on – no texts. Once in contact at this email address, I will send my phone number and any other information/attachments. Most important information is below. 1.Yes, utilities are included (cable, internet, laundry etc.) 2.The address is 61 Howe Street, Victoria. 4.There is street parking. 5.Reasonable quiet, consideration of others, keeping things clean and tidy, and an independent focus are primary concerns. I would rather not rent than have someone who is not actively conscious of the rights of others. The current roomer is a female science student at UVic; however, there is no gender bias in roomer choice. 6.There are pictures of the house and room(s) in the ad. 7.Sorry, no pets, double occupancy or sub-letting. 8. As there is no lease, and the process of finding a tenant is burdensome, we need to feel assured that a potential roomer has the firm intention to stay for a longish time - not just a few months. And so, I ask for first and last month’s rent (OK in a shared accommodation), a damage deposit and a full calendar month’s notice when leaving. I will give the same notice if it is ever necessary. If you are interested and if you have Teams, WhatsApp, Google Chat or facebook Messenger we can connect and establish a first impression.
