| Budget: $1500-2200 per person plus utilities – but if there’s a great place for less, even better! Preferred neighbourhoods: False Creek/South Granville, Mount Pleasant, Beach Ave, or West End. Timeline: Looking to secure a place at some point in June (or July 1st at the latest). What I’m looking for in an apartment… this may be a stretch, but… Key Amenities: laundry in-unit, dishwasher, outdoor space (reasonably sized balcony, rooftop, or otherwise), ocean/mountain views, bike storage, modern kitchen, 1-2 proper bedrooms (can comfortably fit a queen bed + dresser/closet) Preferred Amenities: Gym in building, parking, air conditioning, den with windows for a home office (happy to contribute more to the rent for this) Example of somewhere I think looks interesting: I think this place looks nice! A little about me… I'm a 31 year old queer cis-woman, originally from Toronto. I've lived abroad my whole adult life (Boston > New York > London) and have always lived in shared spaces. I’m pretty active and love spending time outdoors (running, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, climbing, etc), hence making the move out west! I also enjoy cooking (I'm a pescatarian), photography, reading/writing, and have been trying to learn to throw pottery. My party days are long gone, but I enjoy having a drink with friends, having friends over for dinner, going to shows, and trying out new restaurants. On the work front, I’ll be stepping into a fairly demanding job. I suspect to be in the office 2-3 days a week and working from home the other days. I’ll also be travelling ~5 days a month for work. In a housemate, I’m looking for… Queer-friendly, not a party-animal (and not bringing random people home frequently), non-smoking (I’m 420 friendly and edibles are fine at home, but I’m asthmatic so need to keep the air at home fresh) Someone who values open/honest communication, is fairly clean/tidy and respectful of shared spaces (you deal with your dishes before the end of the day, do shared chores, are quiet if coming home late at night, etc.) I’d like to become friends with whoever I live with, rather than just cohabitating! I really want the space to feel like home for both of us. That said, I also need my own space (and respect others may want/need the same).
