| Looking for a roommate to share my 2bed Mount Pleasant apartment, available from May 1st! $$$: Your share each month will be $850, which covers rent + utilities. I’ll be collecting a $400 deposit, as well. The Apartment & Location: Super convenient to transit + all the basics are close! The apartment is on the third/top floor and there is no elevator. The building is not cute, but the apartment is comfortable. The building is on Broadway, right smack in the middle between Commercial and Main. The 9 bus stops right out front and you can catch the 8 and 99 just a couple blocks away. Skytrain is either a short walk or quick bus ride away, too. Kingsgate mall is a 15minute walk, which has a Buy-Low Foods, Shoppers + BC liquor store. There’s also a laundromat just a few blocks away (the building technically offers a coin-operated washer/dryer, but there’s only one of each) The apartment is also south-facing so we get lots of natural light (I have tons of plants, but more are welcome if you’ve got them!) We look out onto Broadway which means the traffic is quite noisy if we’ve got all the windows open, but it’s quiet with them closed. The windows all have screens, too, so no bugs flying in! Unfortunately, no balcony. In the attached photos, the bedroom will be unfurnished after my roommate moves out with her things + some of the living room furniture will leave with her too (we’ll be down to one couch, so yours is welcome if you’ve got one) Me: My name’s Erin, I’m a 34yo woman who’s into wildlife (Sir David Attenborough was my childhood hero) tattoos, white wine, true crime podcasts (hi murderinos!), rupaul’s drag race, bird watching, and a huge kpop obsession (the mail from Korea is near constant) I share my life with a cat named Poppy (she’s curious about people but she likely won’t want to be friends) Monday-Thursday, I work as a landscaper, I’m up at 5am (I do my best to be quiet but I will be moving around the apartment, fair warning to super light sleepers) and then I’m home around 5pm. I’m nearly always in bed by 10pm, if not earlier (sometimes before the sun goes down in the summer, haha) On the weekends, I work reception at a tattoo shop. This means I’m only off on Fridays, otherwise I’m gone during the day. About You: First and foremost, you believe covid-19 is real and you also believe vaccines work. Secondly, a lady-type identified person, but queer & non-binary folk are also more than welcome to apply! Age isn’t so important to me, as long as you’re a mature, considerate individual who knows how to communicate with others. Couples would be considered, but I haven’t had much luck with that in the past. Also, if two people are looking to rent the room, we’d be splitting rent+utilities three ways. Non-smoker, but a little weed is ok. I will sometimes have a puff or two at night to help me sleep, so you’re welcome to do the same, but any more smoking than that needs to be done outside. “Clean” as in you’re a grown up and know that bathrooms don’t clean themselves. I might leave dirty dishes in the sink overnight, but not any longer than that. We’ll need to make a mutual effort to keep the common areas clean! Be employed! Or maybe not employed, but with a source of income (like a student loan situation) I don’t want to pay the whole rent here myself, otherwise I wouldn’t be looking for a roommate, so being late with rent or unable to pay is a total deal-breaker. Your pals are welcome to come over to have a drink or watch a movie (when the pandemic permits, that is) but this was NOT a party-friendly space pre-covid and it won’t be after, either. You’re welcome to keep a caged-pet like a rat or lizard, but unfortunately dogs are not allowed and my cat doesn’t like to share with other cats. I will ask for a reference or two, mostly just to check you didn’t burn down your last place. You & Me: I’m really looking for someone who wants to share a space but has their own independent life. We likely won’t share meals or do much hanging out, but I really value feeling relaxed at home, so it’s important to me we’re friendly and comfortable with each other. :) If this all sounds good to you, please reply back with a bit about yourself, and we can talk about setting up a time for you to come by!
