The link to the craiglist ad is here: https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van/roo/d/vancouver-room-for-rent/7729054795.html We are looking to find a new roommate to share our 4 bed/2.5 bathroom (one with a big separate bathtub!) house on Highbury/19th, near to Dunbar St. The room is a good size with plenty of room for a queen bed and desk. It shares a bathroom with one other housemate. Monthly rent is $1060 (plus bills split 5 ways, total rent around $1100/month) and the room is available from June 1, 2024. The house is close to Pacific Spirit Park (10 min walk), and a short bus/cycle from UBC, Spanish Banks/Jericho beaches and Kitsilano. It was built in 1916, has high ceilings, lots of character, a great layout (set over three floors), with multiple separate spaces for living, studying, working, and a spare room for guests. There is also tons of storage for bikes/skis etc., and a nice garden, with two decks, a hammock space, huge BBQ, and lots of room for growing veggies. Some info about us, we’re all working professionals/graduate students in their 30s: - Ian is from Scotland and has lived in BC for 5 years. Ian enjoys biking (road and mountain), hiking, volleyball, tennis, and bouldering. Also enjoy checking out breweries, coding, and going camping. - Colin & Kate are from Canada and are in various stages of PostDocs/PhDs at UBC. They love spending time outside, mainly climbing and skiing. Always down for something active; beach volleyball is a new favourite as well! - Ernesta is from Lithuania and without breaking the trend of being into outdoorsy activities—hiking, backpacking, skiing, camping, also likes to keep herself busy with creative projects, film festivals, cooking experiments, and yoga. We are looking for someone who is considerate, open to sharing meals together on occasion, and happy contributing to house projects! As a house, we eat together sometimes on an informal basis, organize house potlucks/drinks/movie nights, and share some basic household items (salt, pepper, spices, TP, olive oil, cleaning products etc) as well as having a regular house meeting to check in with each other.
