| A unit full of surprises . You will need to flush the toilet twice every time. It will not be fixed. The door has been kicked in by the police two tenants ago and is now trash. It won’t be replaced. You also get the privilege of living over a dump. The construction from bored neighbor underneath never ends. Expect the sawing of metal using a wood blade at two in the morning. Do not expect the manager to do anything about it. Do not expect ANYTHING to be fixed that doesn’t require a bandaid. The kitchen drawers have lost their runners so drawers fall out if pulled out too far. Absolutely do not expect a clean unit. It ain’t happening. The heat is set to “boil your ass off” and you’ll definitely need an air conditioner. And as an added bonus, there’s cockroaches. Expect having to empty your possessions into bags so they can check for bugs, spray for bugs, bait for bugs in all cupboards and closets. Expect this every few months. You will need to line all your shelves after. Expect to pay $50 in liner that is not refundable. Expect the rent to go up by at least $200 each time. Expect lots of street noise and partiers as there is a bar close by. Expect the sound of racing cars as the police apparently don’t surveile this area. Expect police, ambulance and fire truck sirens day and night. Do not expect notice of entry. You WILL find them standing in your unit pretending you received one. |
