| I'm just posting this as my search experience lately. Be aware that you should not be giving out too much personal information about yourself before you actually meet the landlord or owner. Don't rent sight unseen. You don't need to put a deposit down with your application. There are a lot of stories of applicants not getting their deposit back after being declined tenancy. Don't be afraid to ask for ID from the landlord or owner, because they will ask it from you. NEVER, EVER give your social insurance number to a landlord or owner. They do not need that number to rent to you. Be safe out there, and be VERY cautious! |
